Fallen #6 - Original Woodcut with Pen and Ink
About The Work:
My artwork Fallen #6 reflects the cycles of life we experience, including a gradual drop in the heat of summer days, when leaves start to turn and fall, trees readying for their winter slumber. Leaves are symbolic of fertility and growth, while the colours blue, orange and yellow represent serenity, hope and happiness. This varied edition original pen and ink over hand-pulled woodblock print is a unique image. It was created from woodblock plates with leaves carved into them hand-printed in varying patterns using Japanese watercolors mixed on the plate with rice paste. The resulting monoprint was then drawn over with pen and ink embellishments.
Size: 3.75 × 5.75 inches, matted to 8 x 10 inches
Medium: Pen and Ink over Woodblock Monoprint on Japanese Washi paper
Year: 2018
This work is matted to fit a standard size frame and enclosed in a protective clear plastic sleeve. A Certificate Of Authenticity is also included. Frames are not supplied.
Please note that colours may appear slightly different on screen than they do in person
