My Brandon Group Exhibition at the AGSM

In April I entered my original pen and ink artwork Let's Dance! into the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba’s group art show My Brandon being held 25 April through 1 June. Works entered reflected the future hopes and vision we have for Brandon. On the occasion of the publication of the City of Brandon - Local Government's 30-year plan, the AGSM asked the people of Brandon to dream big about what they want to see in their city's future. The My Brandon married visual art and data visualization to showcase our community's hopes. My submission Let’s Dance celebrates the joy, freedom, and love of life found in healthy, thriving communities of people who have a common goal of working towards the betterment of their community. The colours symbolize happiness (yellow), self-love (pink), communication (blue) and growth (green). Music and dance always lifts people's spirit, infuses us with optimism and hope, bringing us together in ways that heal and move us forward in a positive direction.

My joy is creating art from the patterns around me and the visual rhythms of line, shape, colour, contrast. I focus on artwork for smaller living spaces and wearable art for that unique look.
