Fusing Glass

While on a May 2024 visit to Calgary, Alberta I wanted to take in another fused glass workshop. I had attended one the year prior, really enjoyed the experience and had promised myself a repeat. And May 25th was a lovely Saturday to spend time with family and friends playing with glass. The workshop was hosted by our instructor Jeweliyana Reece of www.infusedartwork.com. I had done 2 6x6 appetizer plates last June and this year I did a 6x12" plate. Was so much fun to spend the afternoon creating with friends and family! We cleaned and glued bits of glass onto a flat glass shape and then Jeweliyana took it from there, firing the plates to fuse the glass bits on to the base plate, sanding and smoothing the edges then firing them a second time into a slump mold to give them a multi-dimensional shape. Thanks so much Jeweliyana Reece for your patience and guidance! And thanks to my sister for driving us and helping with the goodies, and beverages. Iā€™m looking forward to another repeat next time I'm in Calgary!

My joy is creating art from the patterns around me and the visual rhythms of line, shape, colour, contrast. I focus on artwork for smaller living spaces and wearable art for that unique look.
